Are you looking to do your own makeup for your wedding day or special occasion?
Maybe you prefer to apply makeup yourself or you’re trying to save money? It might be that your favourite wedding makeup artist is booked up, so your struggling to find one that’s available.
If you’re heading abroad for your wedding, there’s a chance you’ll be applying your own makeup on the day.
Your wedding planner may give you advice and recommend a business to you, or your local makeup artist can advise with the products you’ll need in the heat.

We’re going to show you what you need to do to apply your own wedding makeup, but before that, there are a few ideas we want to share with you.
Tips
Practice! – Don’t wait until the wedding day to do your makeup! The more you practice, the easier it will be. This is especially important for those that don’t usually wear makeup.
Try different styles! – Take a look at different makeup styles and try them. You might find something you love that you hadn’t thought of before.
Skin Care – Get a skincare routine together and look after your skin months before the big day! That way your skin will look at its best and your makeup will look amazing!
Facials can give you glowing skin so try and fit a few in before the wedding day.
Waterproof mascara – If you don’t already wear waterproof mascara, now is the time to find one! You don’t want your mascara smudging or running down your face
Lessons – Ask your usual beauty salon if you can pay for a makeup lesson. That way they can tell you what products you will need and how to use them.
Their advice and ideas will give you the confidence to re-create the look on the day.
SPF – They say if possible, avoid foundation makeup with SPF as some can cause makeup flashback on your photos.
Trends – Avoid any new makeup trends if possible. Photos won’t look dated when you’re looking back at them in years to come.
Lashes – If you want more than just mascara for your wedding day, then false lashes can look amazing! ( when applied correctly ) Practice at home for other occasions before you go.
Handbag Items – Pick a couple of products to keep in your own or your bridesmaid’s handbag to top up through the day and to keep it looking fresh.
